Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
What is ADHD?
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, focus, organization, and impulse control. It often begins in childhood but can continue into adulthood, impacting school, work, relationships, and daily functioning. Common symptoms include difficulty sustaining attention, restlessness, forgetfulness, disorganization, impulsivity, and trouble completing tasks. ADHD is not a sign of laziness—it’s a brain-based condition that can be effectively managed with the right care.
Our Process
Consultation: We start with an open conversation to understand your concerns—whether it’s trouble focusing, restlessness, procrastination, or academic/work challenges. We also explain the evaluation process, treatment options, and answer your initial questions.
Assessment: Our assessment uses structured interviews, ADHD rating scales, and behavioral checklists. We review developmental history, academic/work performance, and family history to confirm ADHD symptoms. We also explore other conditions (like anxiety, depression, or learning difficulties) that often overlap with ADHD.
Examination: A psychiatrist carefully evaluates your mental and physical health to rule out medical conditions that can mimic ADHD (such as thyroid disorders, sleep issues, or medication side effects). If needed, labs or additional medical referrals are provided.
Treatment Planning: We build a tailored care plan that may include:
Medication management for improving focus, reducing impulsivity, and enhancing daily functioning.
Psychotherapy or coaching to strengthen organizational skills, time management, and coping strategies.
Lifestyle guidance on sleep, exercise, and structure to support brain function.
Ongoing monitoring to adjust treatment and track progress over time.
With the right support, individuals with ADHD can thrive, maximize strengths, and reach their full potential.
